One more day!

This is what the market area and the miracles of Jesus scenes looked like the first week school was out. After several weeks of painting, I will be finished tomorrow!

This set had to be painted on both sides.

Because of vandalism, the 4 rooms were boarded up today. I hope and pray that the sets do not get anymore graffiti painted on it.

Guatemala Bound!

We dropped Ashley off at the airport yesterday, and she is headed to Guatemala. She is traveling with Buckner Missions and will be working with the children in Bible School. Please pray for her safety, health, and her impact on the kids there.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough!

Yes, our mom is making us climb this humongous rock!
Ashley, Lindsey, and I headed to Fredericksburg this morning for my Mother's Day present. We shopped a little at the Trade Days, settled into our B&B (pics later), and headed to Enchanted Rock.

Come on Ashley, it's not that steep!
We made it to the top! You can see forever away.
Ashley kept saying her heart was hurting! I thought for a minute she could be Fred Sanford grabbing his heart yelling, "I'm comin' Elizabeth!"
Okay, we got up here. The panic sets in. How are we going to get down?

Junebug 5K Marathon

Sara, Kinsey, Jamie, Lacy, Hillary, and I traveled to Huntsville this morning and ran our first marathon! The run was partly on the SHSU campus, and if any of you have been there before, there are HILLS! Oh my goodness they were killer. Anyway, we all came home with ribbons! Our stats and other info are found at www.7hills.us/latestnews.htm

22 Years of Marriage Today

Classic 1986 mauve and grey wedding colors!
Todd had a lot more hair then! The girls thought he had a fro, but it is actually the shadow that makes his hair look "bigger"! 22 years ago Todd and I enter a more blessed life than I could ever dream of. Little did I know at the age of 18 that I would have a husband who has proven to be our spiritual leader and successful at his business, 2 wonderful daughters, and a teaching career. These years have flown by and I am looking forward to many more years of happiness.

Writing on the Wall

This is my inspiration I found on vinylattraction.com
With the help of the word processor and an overhead projector, I managed to do this rather quickly on my bathroom wall above my bathtub. The only problem is it is not vinyl, but I can always paint over it when I get tired of it.
Painted this too. Now where else can I paint words...................................?

Decorating

I stayed home today and took down, hung up, put holes in walls, and filled in holes in walls, etc. I had a huge wreath above the mantel that I made 5 years ago. I definitely needed an update. Found the wall art at Kirklands and spent less than $40. I put the fake fruit in my Southern Living vases.
This is the idea I found on a blog site. She covered canvas with burlap and mounted the black and white pictures on the canvas. I painted the canvas to match my bedroom. The pictures are of Todd and me. I am thinking about painting a quote like: "....and they lived happily ever after" under it. I spray painted these mismatched frames and put pictures of my grandparents and my parents in them. I have these in my room too. I still have some other things I want to do. Tomorrow I will have to touch up with paint the holes that I filled in. That should take a good while! I am looking forward to my trip to Fredericksburg with the girls this weekend. Maybe I'll get some more ideas there.

New Running Shoes!

On my shopping trip, I ran by (not literally) Academy and bought a new pair of running shoes. I spent more than I ever have on shoes, but they are so comfortable and cushiony! By the way, just got back from running 3.5 miles! It must be the shoes!

Shopping Spree

After looking at so many neat blogs and getting inspired by their decorating talents, I decided that I needed to do a little work on my home decor. After getting paid from a couple of painting jobs, I headed to College Station. My first stop was Hobby Lobby, then Ross, TJ Maxx, Target and finally Kirklands. Everything I bought was on sale. The faux fruit (half price) is for a few clear glass containers. Kirklands is now my favorite store. I bought all pictures except for two there. I also purchased a couple of 16x20 canvases on sale for $5 at Michaels to do a project for my bedroom. I'll post pics later.

Transformation!

This shelf with drawers are in Mrs. Batson's utility room. It has been this color for over 40 years! It was originally built for her daughter's room and was moved in the utility room when they built their new house. She asked me to paint it red and to distress it by dry brushing it with a khaki color to make it look worn. I primed it first, then it took 3 coats of red! I painted the back of the shelf the color of the wall, dry brushed it, and finally put a sealer on it. I also painted a shelf and a bench to put in the room.

Rainy Day Crafting

I was "rained out" from painting at the church today, so I decided to spiff up a clipboard to use at school. I have a few bubbles in the paper, but I will know to smooth out the paper really good next time I make one. I used spray adhesive, but next time I will use the mod podge glue on the back of the paper as well.

I saw a version of this stand on Sara's Art House. Hers wasn't painted and she had nails instead of cup hooks. It is just a table leg from Home Depot and a wooden base. I cleaned out my jewelry drawer and have lots of things for the treasure chest in my classroom! I think I may need to make another one. This one doesn't have enough room for more!

We should have named her GRACE!

Ready for VBS

The decorating crew just finished the stage for VBS tomorrow. We lacked paper so we had to improvise and use what we had. I think it turned out pretty good and it will be easy clean up!
Jana works hard on getting the pineapple good and plump! I won't say what she told me she was doing!

Wedding Accessories

Jennifer is getting married August 2. She asked me to paint these items for her wedding. The pink bucket will be for the flower girl. I painted the inside brown. Want it look sweet with pink flower petals in it? The monograms on the brown buckets are the same as on their wedding program. Going to Amanda's wedding this evening. Can't wait to see the hot pink and zebra!

What a Trade!

I painted Sara's letters for her son and look what she made me! I love my necklace. The picture doesn't do it justice. I took about 10 and this was the best one. Isn't great to have talented friends? I can't wait to wear it, Sara!

Latest ceiling tile painting.

Williamson Family Reunion

Grace and Lindsey take a ride on the wagon pulled by these horses Todd and I are posing in front of. Todd looks really thrilled to take a picture, doesn't he?

We spent Saturday evening in Kirbyville with family. The girls pose with my sister, Stacy.
Yes, the girls are sitting in the two seater outhouse my mom and dad built just for this occasion! We didn't actually use it, but several there did!
