Maxine, My Hero

This is how I have felt lately, except the things aren't stupid. You all know how it is when you have way to many irons in the fire! Poor Todd, after this weekend he will probably feel so neglected. Well, at least he will have clean socks and underwear!!!

It is finished!

Whew! I finally finished the rocking chair this evening. I put on the final coat of polyurethane and it is ready for Mrs. Savell's classroom. I hope she is surprised and likes it. Getting in between those slats was kind of a pain but I had fun doing it. Next on the agenda: a bedroom suite for a little cowboy.

Hard at Work

Lindsey and the girls worked really hard getting their steers cleaned and ready for the judging. We were there at 5:30 this morning! Lindsey and Raynie's steers did not classify with the Santa Gertrudis class, so they will show in the morning with the All Breeds. (another 5:30 morning) This class will be much more competitive because of so many steers. I learned alot there yesterday and today. It is a big gamble because of the classifiers and judges. Lindsey is learning lots of responsibility and patience though. We may be headed for Houston in a few weeks. I'll miss her showing because I had to come back for work. Bummer!

Ready for Valentines!

This year I gave my students a choice of what kind of box they wanted to decorate for Valentine's Day. The Pac o' Fun magazine had these in the February issue. Aren't they cute?

Ready for San Antonio!

It's almost showtime! Lindsey and Mr. Hendricks worked Saturday getting him all clipped and ready for the San Antonio Livestock Show this week. Lindsey will show Thursday and hopefully make the sale on Saturday. If not, we are headed to Houston. Todd is rubbing some Mane and Tail conditioner on the steer to make him shine. They will leave at 2:00 Tuesday morning.

Cold Front Approaching

I just took these pictures from my front porch of the cold front coming our way! Isn't it amazing? My car thermometer read 79 degrees on my way home. Within a matter of minutes the wind shifted and it was much cooler. Since my weather and climate class in college, I have been fascinated with the weather. I love to watch cold fronts come in. Just imagine how far that cold weather had to come to get here in Texas. Things like this make me realize how much God is in control. Wow!

Doing What I Love

I haven't painted much since Christmas, but last week I was asked to paint a rocking chair, 3 good sized paintings of construction vehicles for a little boy's room, a mirror, a bulletin board, Mason's board which is pictured above, and a boy's bedroom set! The boards pictured are just plain ceiling tiles. Looks like I will be painting again between supper, exercising, and grading papers. I taught myself to knit from youtube over the holidays and made one scarf. If you want to see shows that you watched growing up as kids, youtube is the place! Anyway, knitting will have to be put aside for awhile! Pictures will come later.
