More Tiles

I think this sports tile is the most detailed yet. When I saw the picture of what Shaunda wanted, I was a little apprehensive. But, once I got started, it wasn't bad at all. I think it turned out pretty good.

This canvas was really fun! I took the pic before adding Madison's name.

This CARS painting was a doosy!(don't know how to spell that, Carrie!)

Far out painting! I hope Mason likes it! I love the red and the yellow.

Y-M-C-A!

With a suggestion from Lindsey, we joined the local gym. It's funny how I suggested itover a year ago, but when Lindsey asked her daddy, he gave in! Go figure! Todd had been wanting to try the elliptical machine, and I was starting to get a little bored with the treadmill. Notice Todd has already found the remote and has FOX NEWS on!

Ashley came home the other night, so she went with us as a guest. She had a little problem doing sit ups on the incline. That was just her first one!

Look at those calf muscles!

Ashley works on those triceps. No flabby arms for her!

This is the next picture for the mail outs. Maxine had to lose her robe and put on her teacher attire! All the guys have passed their tests (background, drug, certifications, etc) and all customers should feel safe that these guys are trustworthy and capable of doing work in their homes.

Ladies Retreat '09 "The Bloomery"

Debby and Jana had all the decorations in place and they look great! The pots were sold to help pay for the decorations. We were able to make our money back plus add some to the women's ministry fund! Carrie is in deep concentration below! Thanks Cindy for helping me with the pin class!
Our speaker, Julie Woodruff, flew in from Tennessee. She was great! During the first session , she spoke about losing our first love. If we let our love for Jesus fade, then we get deeper in sin and farther away from Christ. God is right where we left Him. We have to return to him and rekindle that love with our Lord. Sometimes I get so busy that God gets pushed aside, and I realized that I need to be there with Him first and foremost. Julie also spoke about what kind of Christian woman we should be and forgiveness. She is a wonderful speaker.
Get those petals made, girls!

Bubba, Sharon, and their Conroe friends show off their flower pins.

2 more cross designs and designer paddles

I finished these 2 paintings/decoupaging yesterday. The hardest part is choosing the paper designs to go on them. The possibilities are endless!

Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Marchbanks will have fancy paddles tomorrow! They have been using 2 unfinished ones until I get theirs painted! I really need to get mine painted....one day!

Happy Birthday, Todd!

This man is an INCREDIBLE Christian husband and father who I am so blessed to be married to! Everyday with him is truly a gift. Have a great day! We love you!

Love in the air!

Love was in the air at school Friday even though it was the 13th! The kids had a great time exchanging valentines, eating candy and cupcakes, and just having a fun day.

After our morning announcements the students had time to deliver their valentines all over the school!

The boys did a great job on their lion boxes. All I did was cover them. They cut out and colored in the faces and made the mane by measuring out 6 inch pieces of brown paper and making the loops.

The zebras had to be the easiest even though they had a few more pieces to cut out.

I whipped up a batch of pinwheels to add to our decorations for the retreat coming up this weekend. I found the tutorial on all sorts. They were easy and fun to do.

Trying something new

I tried a little mixed media yesterday! I didn't know what that was until I started blogging and looking at etsy. Anyway I used paper, paints, and wood to create this plaque. I got a little inspiration at doodledesignshop.com and found another way to use cabinet doors!

I also made 4 new candles. I was able to use my jigsaw and cut out some crosses this weekend! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

A Plethora of Pots!

On February 20-21our church's women's ministry is hosting a ladies retreat called "Bloomery". These pots will be used as our decorations and sold afterwards. The decorating committee met Friday night at Denise's house to paint. These should add lots of color to our tables. If you would like to come to the retreat, let me know and I can get you details. Our deadline for sign up is Feb. 11th. We will have worship, song, food, and crafts. Cindy and I will be teaching a session to make flower fabric pins.

I painted a few pots with chalkboard paint! That way you can change the pot whenever you get tired of the design.

This box does not go with the pots, but I painted this small wooden box for a little boy to house his collections (mostly rocks)!

I think I want them!

These barstools were screaming for an update! After a good sanding and priming, I was ready to go WILD with them.

I think they look good at my bar! I may need to keep them awhile, just see how the paint will hold up and all! No just kidding. If anyone has some old barstools they want to get rid of, call me. I want a couple of these.
I put a brown wash over the barstools to age them and to make the gold and turquoise color not so bright. They look better without the camera's flash.
