Just finished the painting that we will be creating on the 10th! Of course, everyone will be able to personalize it the way they want to, so everyone's will be different. When I finished it, I realized that the back side can be painted a Christmas theme! I just may do that for the next party! (Carrie, there is room for you!)

Bottle cap necklaces
Just finished making 6 of these necklaces just in time for Homecoming this week! My camera is not that great, but the colors are much brighter. I'm going to sell them for $5 each. They would be so cute on a little cheerleader or a big one! Let me know if you want one! Also, Courtney, who does my hair, is coming to the Elementary library from 1-4 pm on Monday to sell some of her handmade jewelry. She uses the chunky stones and makes necklaces that look like huge charm bracelets. Come by if you can. Christmas is less than 100 days away!
Thanks who came and shopped and supported Courtney! I have these necklaces in the workroom for a whopping 5 bucks if you want one. (these were kind of tidious, so I won't be doing more!!!)
Happy 17th Birthday, Lindsey!

Baby Lindsey with big sis, Ashley
17 years ago at 5:45 a.m. I gave birth to my second daughter, Lindsey Kay. Gomer Pyle was on the TV in the birthing room, and I was frantic because Todd was not in the room with me yet. (He was waiting on his dad to get Ashley) I was afraid he would not make it to the room before Lindsey came into the world. Todd showed up just in time for me to give him a death grip when it was time to push! Time has flown by and now she is less than a year away from being a senior in high school. Although we may have our ups and downs ( as most moms and teenage daughters!) I love ya, Lindsey! Have a great day!

10 things I love about my home
Well, since I am a Tip Junkie addict, I decided to participate in her 10 favorite things about my home. First off, I love the front of my house. My husband built the steps including laying the brick. My kitchen is a favorite place especially during the holidays. Having a double oven helps alot!
My dining room furniture is the newest addition to our house.
Our gas fire place is great on cold winter days. Only problem is there aren't that many in Texas!
This is my new area of my house. I finally finished my table that I bought at Canton. This table will expand to a full size table. Here, I can sit and work on the computer in the living room.
I just love it when Lindsey cleans her room! You mothers with teenage daughters will know what I am talking about!
My great grandmother, Aggie crocheted our name several years ago. This was the first piece that I had professionally framed.
This print was given to me by my mother-in-law. It is a picture of the old Pig Stand in Beaumont. The records are of Elvis and yes, that bottom one is blue.
This is where I like to soak in the tub after a long day at school. I was happy Todd let me get a whirlpool tub when we were building the house.
This is the beginning of my cross wall. Each of these crosses has a story behind it. Lindsey has given me a couple, and Ashley brought the blue one to me from Guatemala.

Weathering the storm
Before the lights went out, the kids got paint by number sets to have something to do. Well, it didn't take them long to finish. If you look in the bottom left of the top pic, guess who is making another garland? You guessed it! Stacy!
Todd and Ashley surf the web Friday night.
Our electricity went off early Saturday morning. Thank goodness we have a generator and the weather has been really great. Mama and Daddy take a little nap before they head home on Sunday morning. They have no electricity either, but got a generator to hook up to their freezers.
Lindsey has been working on her bedroom redo. She has a giraffe theme. I'll post pics when it is all done. With all this time we have had, I have painted quite a bit. Check out my art blog to see what I have been doing lately!

First installment of Christmas Ornaments
Here are my first five ornaments for the Christmas season. Other than the Santa one, they all say "joy". I painted alot last year with initials on them. These are the large ornaments and will make great gifts. Five down, a tree full to go!
Okay, I know the above pic has nothing to do with Christmas, but Todd's mom came to visit today and was telling me that candy corn and peanuts together taste like a Payday. Well, you know I have been making candy corn garlands, and I just happen to have peanuts! OMGoodness! It does taste like a Payday when you eat them together. I told her she shouldn't have told me about them. I am afraid my candy corn garland will be cut short!

Ashley has a new home!
Well, I think we have Ashley situated for the semester. (please I hope this is the last time!) Her new semester home did not work out, so we moved her temporarily back home Monday. She got right to work finding a new place and just look! OMGoodness it is like a resort there with fitness rooms, pool, club house, tanning beds, and even a carwash! Her apartment even smells new. If I were her, I would stay there until she GRADUATES!!!!!! I don't think her poor furniture can stand another move.
Full Blown Pinkeye
This is day 2 of Lindsey's case of the pinkeye. She missed school yesterday and will probably be sent home today, but she is insistant on going. She is ordering her class ring today, so she thinks she has to be there. The doctor said it was so bad, he prescribed her two bottles of medicine. Needless to say, we are keeping our distance and everything she has touched is being washed! My eye itches just thinking about it!

I'm It!
Well, I have been tagged twice now, so I guess I need to do this! Here are the rules:
Write 7 strange characteristics about yourself. They interest us all!* Tag 6 other people at the end of your Post.* Visit everyone that you have tagged and leave a comment on their blog to let them know that they have been tagged.
Here goes nothing!
1. When I asked Ashley what are some strange things about me, she said I ask way too many questions. Well, inquiring minds want to know!!!!
2. I love oldies music like Elvis, fifties, Frank Sinatra, etc.
3. I love the Osmonds! My cousin and I used to pretend we were part of their band singing while the record played! Donny and Marie are so cool! I even have my girls brainwashed.
4. The toilet paper roll has to be put on so that the toilet paper rolls from the top not underneath.
5. My house has to be straight before I leave, so that I don't have to come home to a filthy house!
6. I shave my legs EVERY night! Todd and I made a deal a long time ago. If I shaved every night, he would shave every night!
7. Todd and I have been together since I was in the 8th grade! (He was a junior) Now that seems kind of bad, but he says I was mature for my age!

Fall Garland
Stacy made this one awhile ago. I intertwined the candy corn garland around it. If you want to try the candy corn garland, heat the candy for about 10 seconds in the microwave so it won't break when you thread it.
Garland How-To
First cut a butt load of fabric strips (this may take awhile). We used a clothesline rope that you can get at Walmart.
Stacy begins tying the strips on. Oh, the strips are about 6-7 inches long and they don't have to be perfect.
Stacy made this garland to give to her roommates' new granddaughter. It is so full and pretty. Most of the material we are using is feed sack material that Todd's grandmother had. When she past away, I got alot of this material. So there is some sentimental value to it!
Next, we are going to try to make candy corn garlands from Bienvenue (the link is on the left).
