Ashley's Aggie Life
Ashley has decided to become a blogger, so I can keep up with her that way instead of myspace! I don't really like having a myspace anyway. Blogging is much better! Check out her blog and maybe relive some of your college memories!

My first award
Lacie B. awarded me this on my With Brush in Hand blog. Thanks, Lacie! Check out the blog for the next 3 winners and visit Lacie's blog to see her cute kids (Emilie is in my class this year!). She also made some really cool baby shower invitations too!

My Favorite
I think this is my favorite paddle so far. The colors are brighter than they look. I hope Amanda likes it!

Casee's Baby Shower
Casee finished off the paintings I did for Jace's room and had them at her shower today. They turned out great! Casee covered the boards with batting and with fabrics from the guest/baby room. I believe she will hang these above the bed.

Getting Ready!
What you see is just a fraction of the boxes that were unloaded containing our new reading program. The look on Sara Newton's face is how we all feel: OVERWHELMED! Now we have to figure out what we are going to do with it all and where are we going to put it!

Faith and Family Day
Yesterday was Faith and Family Day at Minute Maid Park. Lance Berkman gave his testimony which was dynamic. This event took place 3 hours before game time. It is too bad that all the fans didn't hear what he had to say.
After Lance spoke Steven Curtis Chapman gave an hour concert! You couldn't help but tear up when he spoke of how he and his family are still hurting from the loss of Maria. The above picture shows SCC with his two sons, and the pic below is SCC singing "Cinderella". It was awesome.

Mrs. Dean's High Chair
Mrs. Dean brought this high chair over for me to paint for her to use at her house. She wanted me to use the colors in her kitchen. I finished it this morning. I worked on it for about 3 days (that's a record!) It's just that when I started it, I couldn't stop working on it! I hope her grandkids like it!
Ready for School?!?!?
Besides a few more things like name tags on desks and a couple of posters, I am pretty much done with my classroom. I have to be honest: I am not ready to go back yet! This summer has flown by. I have to think like this: Since the last 3 months have gone by so quickly, then the next 3 will be here before I know it! CHRISTMAS VACATION!

Lil' Dino shelf
I have 2 of these incredibly heavy shelves to paint. The one above was girly pink and now it is transformed into this pale green shelf to match the Lil' Dino bedding for a baby boy's room.
The next shelf will be sports themed. Got to paint a high chair before I start that one!

I am so proud!
My sister, Stacy, sent me these pics on her phone yesterday of her new found CRAFTINESS! Thanks to some fabulous blogs out there using scrapbook paper, Stacy was able to make some new pictures for her bedroom walls. You have to understand Stacy claims to have no creative ability, but I beg to differ! Keep up the good work, Sista!

Rhoda's party
Rhoda at Southern Hospitality is having a party to show off your favorite yard sale, estate sale, or flea market finds. Since I just returned from Canton with some bargains, I thought I would join the party. Still working on the table. Scroll down to see my treasures!

My Treasures
Aren't these neat? These are just cut out of plywood, and I think the glass stones are placed in some sort of paintable silicone. It is then stained. This booth was in one of the Arbors and packed with people. Maybe that's where all the people were!
I have a weakness for soaps. I buy these almost everytime I go. All the soaps are handmade and are located in the Walkway by the Creek.
I bought these cabinet doors for 2 bucks each! I plan on painting some of these with chalkboard paint.
Since it was too hot to buy soup, I bought fruit dip mix and spinach artichoke dip. We ate the artichoke dip and strawberry dip for supper! Yum!
Ashley called the other day and said she wanted a real chest of drawers for her room. Last year we bought just rubbermaid drawers because she had a big closet to put them in. Well, Cindy and I found this and the table. The table was marked 49.50 and the chest was marked 59.50. Cindy bargained and I got both pieces for......are you ready? $75.00!!!! The chest below is the new look after I painted it today! I will eventually get new pulls, but I painted them silver.
Canton was a Ghost Town!
These were taken Friday afternoon. Can you believe it? I have never seen Canton so desolate. It was so hot. Those pavillions felt like ovens in places. The good side was that there were lots of sales! I bought more than I expected but at such great deals. Thanks to Cindy for taking her van without the seats! I'll post pics of my treasures later! I am so excited.
